Decorating with light is, in the same way as with everything else we decorate with in our homes, a matter of taste. And at Bellevue Vintage, we believe that the most important thing when choosing lighting is to fall head over heels for the lamp, for the design and for the expression. We very carefully select all the lamps we have in the store based on their design, their history, their patina and soul. We also try to find the more unseen lamps, so that we can make sure that you can get something quite unique and particularly beautiful in your home.
We have the great design classics - from France we have, among other things, the fantastic JIELDE lamps, which are rightly described as French industrial design classics. The lamp was designed and drawn in the 1940s by Jean-Louis Domecq, who as a workshop manager needed a lamp that could fulfill the needs he had in his work. In 1951, the lamp became a reality and a classic was born. We have several different of the old original French Jielde lamps. We love their expression and their sculptural appearance. Another classic and the lamp above them all – the HOLOPHANE lamp – the street lamp from Paris, with its special glass specially developed to transport light and control the light direction. The glass was patented in 1893 under the name Holophane, which from Greek means harmonious light distribution. Which you can say that you get with a Holophane lamp. We have them in the store in both the large and the slightly smaller version and they can be chosen both as table or floor lamps or as hanging lamps.
Katerina has a very special thing for the antique French prism chandeliers and she spends many hours behind the scenes cleaning, cleaning and polishing the old beautiful chandeliers. Under French design lighting, we have also chosen to have a category with the antique French church and brass candlesticks. They must be the epitome of old school lighting and are quite simply one of the most beautiful things you can use in your home to create coziness and atmosphere. We always have a large selection of the beautiful old brass candlesticks and a special selection of the antique French church candlesticks, the oldest of which can be dated back more than 200 years.
